Raphinha picks up injury ahead of India vs Brazil international friendly

The forward appeared to have picked up an injury.

Barcelona’s worst fears came true in a terrible way. Raphinha, one of Brazil’s national team captains, picked up an injury in a friendly against Australia.

Raphinha scored Brazil’s second goal from a penalty kick in the 45th minute to tie the game at 2-2, which was the best way to end the first half.

But he had muscle pain and had to leave the pitch at the start of the second half. This will be a big blow to the Catalan club, who were already afraid their star would get hurt during the international break.

This possible injury comes at a very bad time for Barcelona. The club was especially worried about the player’s health before the current break.

Marca reported a few days ago that Barcelona had been keeping close scrutiny of Raphinha because of how well he’s been playing this season. This is on top of a tough trip with the Brazilian national team, where he played in games in Australia and could be ruled out for the upcoming game against India now.

Raphinha likely to miss game against India

Brazil are now scheduled to face India on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 7:30 PM IST at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium) in Kolkata.

Raphinha’s early substitution and muscle discomfort could lead to an early release from the national camp and missing the final match of the international window.

In March of last year, the Barcelona winger hurt a muscle during a game between France and Brazil. He had to leave the camp for the national team and go back to Barcelona. He then missed five weeks of play.

Now once again he has picked up an injury on international duty.
