Real Madrid will want to prolong their flawless start to the 2026-27 campaign when they travel to La Cartuja today to face Real Betis.
Los Blancos enter matchday four in second place in LaLiga, tied on nine points with Barcelona. Meanwhile, the hosts are in seventh spot after six points in three games.
Betis are barely days away from launching their first Champions League season in 21 years, after finishing fifth last season.
However, Los Verdiblancos will have to go through a difficult encounter against Real Madrid before turning their attention to Tuesday’s European match against Lille in France.
Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, has had a solid start to his second tenure as Real Madrid manager, beginning with a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over Espanyol.
Los Blancos breezed through their first two home games of the season, defeating Real Sociedad 4-1 before scoring four more goals in Sunday’s match against newly promoted Malaga.
Jude Bellingham started the opening and then had a key role in Alfonso Herrero’s own goal, before Kylian Mbappe scored his 60th LaLiga goal, extending Real Madrid’s advantage to three after 30 minutes.
With Barcelona in action on Sunday, Mourinho’s team will go three points ahead at the summit of LaLiga with a victory at Betis for the first time since August 2021, when they won 1-0.
