16 years after propelling Inter Milan to Champions League victory, Jose Mourinho’s goal to guide Real Madrid to European Cup number 16 begins today. The Nerazzurri travel to the Bernabéu for the league phase.

However, Inter are still looking for the first triumph over Real Madrid in the new millennium. They have suffered four defeats in succession – including the past three without scoring – since a 3-1 victory in late 1998.
However, Inter arrive in this game in a buoyant mood. They will be looking to pull off their first win against Los Blancos. Their record has been abysmal against the record winners.
