Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad: Full confirmed lineups for LaLiga 2026-27 match

Los Blancos welcome Sociedad in second LaLiga game tonight.

Tonight, Real Madrid will host Real Sociedad in their first LaLiga home game of the season, welcoming José Mourinho back to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Thanks to a poacher’s finish by Carlos Espí, Mourinho’s second bite of the cherry began with a late victory against Espanyol. In Catalonia, Madrid’s well-known vulnerabilities were exposed, but Mourinho would prefer to face them after a triumph rather than a dismal draw.

A number of important players, such as Éder Militão, Ferland Mendy, and Rodrygo, are still recuperating from injuries, making the squad situation less than ideal.

But Mourinho can make up for these absences because of the squad’s depth. This was demonstrated against Espanyol, where Real improved dramatically following substitutes in the second half to win.

But Barcelona’s subsequent 5-0 thumping of Elche demonstrated how difficult it will be for Los Blancos to unseat the reigning champions.

Although Sociedad’s campaign began with a narrow loss against Real Betis, the hosts will face a challenging task Wednesday.

Last season, Pellegrino Matarazzo’s club was among the top teams in Europe for a while, but they finished in tenth place due to a lacklustre finish. Even so, few could argue that La Real, who have only won seven major titles in their history, didn’t have a great season after defeating Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey final.
