The Blue Tigresses continued their unbeaten run in the tournament.
It was a dominating performance by India's women’s contingent in their inaugural match of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2022, whereby their superior performance was enough to defeat the arch-rivals Pakistan by a big margin of 3-0. Under the stewardship of Suren Chhetri, the entire unit displayed a spirited performance throughout the match and comfortably ensured that the chances of winning were never uncertain.
Taking advantage of the fact that Pakistan were playing in the SAFF Women’s Championship for the first time since they hosted the tournament in 2014, India made a strong start to the match and worked on the start to see through the entire match. India would look to work on this and go forward through the tournament with a hope to clinch their seventh consecutive title.
Here are the player ratings of the India women's team for their match against Pakistan.

Aditi Chauhan: 7
India's defence and midfield played extremely well today, so she didn’t have to do much against Pakistan. However, the presence of Nadia Khan in the opposition forward line made her task difficult, and maintaining a clean sheet in front of her is always commendable.
Ranjana Chanu: 8
Ranjana displayed very good performance on the right flank, both in attacks and in defence whenever was required. She kept on putting in good quality crosses from the right and stopped many potential Pakistani attacks. She also provided the assist for the third goal.
Ashalata Devi: 8
Ashalata Devi was rock-solid today at the heart of Indian defence, marshalling her troops quite well. She made sure that Nadia Khan did not get much space in India’s penalty box and played a crucial role in maintaining the clean sheet.
Michel Castanha: 6
Michel put on a good shift in the match and partnered well with her defence mates to keep the clean sheet.
Manisa Panna: 7
Manisha was brilliant in midfield for India and contributed to both Indian attack and defence. Her performance greatly aided India to achieve this victory.

Priyangka Devi: 7
Priangka contributed significantly to the overall good performance of the Indian midfield and made sure that the team functioned in a fluid manner.
Renu Rani: 5
With the benchmark that has been set by her, we can expect Renu Rani to play better football in the upcoming matches of the tournament.
R. Sandhiya: 8
Sandhiya played extremely well on the left flank throughout the match, keeping the opposition defence on their toes. It was her cross that led to India’s first goal.

Anju Tamang: 9
The pick of the players today was Anju Tamang. She played extremely well throughout the match and created several dangerous chances. Anju provided the assist for the second goal and came to close to scoring herself many times. She kept the opposition defence busy for most of the match and did not allow the opposition to rest for a bit.
Ratanbala Devi: 5
Ratnabala played her part as an attacker quite well. However, given the lack of game-time in recent years from the opposition and quality displayed by the Indian attack, Indian fans could have expected more from her in today’s game.
Dangmei Grace: 9
Grace ran havoc on the right wing of the Indian attack throughout the match. She created numerous chances, contributed to every significant Indian attack and scored India’s second goal.

Substitutes:
Ritu Rani: 6
Coming on as a substitute in the second half, Ritu played her role quite well and ensured that the clean sheet is maintained.
Kiran Pisda: 4
Kiran Pisda possesses a lot of promise as a striker and we would expect more from her as the tournament goes on.
Soumya Guguloth: 8
Soumya scored the third and final goal of the match in the dying minutes to give India a 3-0 victory. Her work after coming on as a substitute and scoring a goal deserves a lot of appreciation.
Apurna Narzaryy: 4
The limited during which she stayed on the field was not helpful for her to display a strong performance. However, we would definitely like to watch her perform for more minutes in the upcoming matches.
Thokchom Martina: 4
The case is same with Thokchom as well as she also didn’t get much game time. But she has every potential to be a game-changer after coming on as a sub.
