Two of East Bengal's CFL fixtures have also been rescheduled...

The schedule for the Bordoloi Trophy commencing from 18 September in Guwahati has been announced. East Bengal will leave Kolkata on 20th September, and reach Guwahati the same day to participate in the 64th Borodoloi Trophy. Previously the organizers said that they will start the tournament on 18th September, but they had to reschedule their fixtures as East Bengal officials requested the organisers, that they could only participate in the tournament if the organizers could reschedule the date for East Bengal due to their last two CFL matches not yet being finalised.

Kingfisher East Bengal will open their campaign on 21st September against A.S.E.B Sports Club of Guwahati. They will play their second match of the tournament on 24th September against Bongobi Ogrogami of Bangladesh and will play their third and final group league match against Sikkim United on 27th September. In a statement, the organizers said that the Semifinals and the Final will be held on 28th, 29th and 30th September respectively. Earlier the Final was scheduled for 1st October but later the organizers had to change the date as Hero ISL 2016’s opening ceremony will be on the same day in Guwahati. All the matches will be telecast live on Assamese channel Prag TV from 7 p.m. and will be played at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati. Meanwhile, the Indian Football Association has rescheduled the remaining fixtures of East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting which were postponed due to the Muslim festival of Eid-al-Adha which is to be observed on 12th of this month. As per the new schedule, both the giants from Kolkata will finish their campaign on the 18th. East Bengal will play Mohammedan Sporting in the mini derby on 15th September from 2:30pm at Kalyani Stadium. On the same day, Mohun Bagan will play the replay of the match against Tollygunge Agragami which was abandoned with some unusual circumstances at their home ground from 5:30pm On the other hand, Mohun Bagan will play another mini-derby with Mohammedan SC on the 18th from 2:30 p.m. in Kalyani while East Bengal will play their last match against Aryan on that very day in Barasat from 5:30 p.m. East Bengal just need one point from these two games to emerge themselves as champions and touch the historical feat of seven consecutive times champions of CFL.
