The Scotland national football team are all set to lock horns with the Slovenia national football team for their fourth group stage outing of the UEFA Nations League 2026-27 campaign. Hampden Park will witness this interesting outing.

The Sébastien Pocognoli-led side are coming in after securing their first win of the campaign. It was a 2-0 victory against North Macedonia. Despite failing to control the game, the Scotland national football team put in a strong performance in the attacking front.

Although they only scored two goals, they kept the opponent’s defence on edge. The Tartan Army will now be looking to build on their momentum. Being at home is going to be a big advantage for them, and they will be eager to extend their winning run.

Boštjan Cesar’s men have now faced their first defeat of the UEFA Nations League 2026-27 campaign. They are coming off a 1-2 loss at the hands of Switzerland. Even though Slovenia took an early lead, their performance in defence was not good enough, and it helped their opponents gain control.

The Slovenia national football team will be keen to get back to winning ways. But being the visiting side will be a disadvantage for them. Scotland held them to a goalless draw last time around.

Players to Watch

John McGinn (Scotland)

John McGinn was one of the goal scorers for the Scotland national football team in their 2-0 victory against North Macedonia. He converted a crucial spot kick in the 70th minute and created the most chances (4). The 31-year-old will be once again gearing up to help his side both in the midfield and the attacking front.

Žan Vipotnik (Slovenia)

Žan Vipotnik will be looking to step up his game so that he can get the Slovenia national football team back to winning ways. He scored a goal in just two minutes for his side in the previous outing. He will be eager to engrave his name on the scoresheet once again.

The 24-year-old will be deployed as a sole striker once again.
