AC Milan are set to sack manager Marco Giampaolo and replace him with former Internazionale and Fiorentina manager Stefano Pioli.
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]Marco Giampaolo was appointed at the start of the season to take the Rossoneri to greater heights have failed to deliver and considering their terrible start to the new campaign, the board has decided to remove Giampaolo from his role.
Milan are currently in 13th position suffering four losses in their opening seven fixtures in the league which also includes a 0-2 loss to arch-rivals Inter.
According to Calciomercato, Giampaolo's sacking has been decided by board members which include chief football officer Zvonimir Boban and technical director Paolo Maldini.
Reports also suggest that Boban wanted to sack Giampaolo right after the Inter defeat but Maldini convinced him to give the coach another chance. However, the Rossoneri then lost two subsequent matches against Torino and Fiorentina before returning to winning ways against Genoa last weekend.

There were complains about him for not giving Lucas Paqueta and Suso enough opportunities.
It is certain that Giampaolo has emptied his locker at the Milanello training ground and has informed the senior players about his departure.
While Stefano Pioli is set to replace him there were also talks about Luciano Spalletti being the preferred option to be Giampaolo's successor. However, the former Inter Milan and AS Roma manager was unable to resolve his issues with the Nerazzurri over severance pay. Therefore the Milan board turned their eye towards Pioli as a viable option to take the Rossoneri ahead.
However, Pioli is also considered as an option for Sampdoria and Genoa but by the reports, AC Milan have roped in the former Fiorentina manager.

Previously he has also managed Inter Milan for a short period of time and was also in charge of Lazio and several other noteworthy Italian outfits.
AC Milan have changed four managers in three years and the supporters are not happy with the lack of continuity and the decisions taken by the board in general. However, it remains to be seen what their new manager Stefano Pioli can achieve with this Milan side.
