Under the fairytale twilight of Prague, where gothic spires and Bohemian intellect meet an unapologetic obsession with football, the Fortuna Arena gears up to host the Matchweek 4 fixture in the UEFA Champions League 2026-27. Home team Slavia Prague and Arsenal face each other in what is set to be a thrilling clash.
The Red and Whites find themselves placed in the lower echelon after clinching just a solitary point in three games. After consecutive defeats to Lens and Sabah, the Czech outfit are coming off a draw against Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the last game.
Jindřich Trpišovský’s outfit are now up against one of the favourites to win the UCL, and a big challenge awaits next. Slavia has lost two of their last 16 games and their recent form in the domestic top tier has also been phenomenal.
Arsenal are placed seventh in the table after settling for a fierce 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in a four-goal thriller where Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice scored for the Gunners. The North London outfit are coming off a win over Liverpool in the English top flight.
With their eyes set on climbing higher in the points table to solidify their spot among the top eight teams, Arsenal will eye nothing less than all three points in Prague. In their last two meetings, the English won against Slavia by a combined 7-0 scoreline.
Players to Watch
David Moses (Slavia Prague)
The Nigerian youngster was one of the standout performers for Slavia Prague last season as they went on to win the Czech top tier in back-to-back seasons. He regularly starts for Jindřich Trpišovský’s side in crucial and high-stakes encounters.
But a bigger challenge awaits for Moses, who will be up against an elite Gunners midfield boasting Bruno Guimaraes and Declan Rice. His main job will be sitting just in front of the central defenders and closing down spaces for attacking midfielders like Odegaard.
Noni Madueke (Arsenal)
Arsenal’s Noni Madueke dared to cross the divide between two of the biggest clubs in the capital city of England after making a move from Chelsea to the Gunners last season. He started the new season strongly and has already scored two goals in 11 games across all competitions.
Madueke’s main weapon is cutting across the defender onto his stronger left foot to take quick shots toward the far corner. He will be a key player to watch out for Mikel Arteta as the Premier League side eye a big win over Slavia in the next game.
