La Roja have won six major international trophies.

Considered one of the biggest footballing powerhouses in Europe, few national teams have impacted international football as much as Spain. Their revolutionary “tiki-taka” style took the world by storm, resulting in them becoming the world champions in 2010.

La Roja have given the world some of the finest tactical players of all time, including the likes of Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, David Villa, and David Silva, to name a few. Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique remain one of the most successful centre-back partnerships of all time, while Iker Casillas will go down in history as one of the best goalkeepers to ever play the game.

Their domination in international football was most pronounced at the turn of the century, with La Roja claiming a host of major trophies over two-and-a-half decades. Let’s see the full list of their international honours.

Spain international trophies list

FIFA World Cup – 1 (2010)

It is hard to believe that La Roja have won the FIFA World Cup just once, but their solitary title win in 2010 was a fascinating one. Despite not entering the tournament as one of the favourites, David Villa’s five goals fired them to the final, where they faced the Netherlands. Andres Iniesta scored the only goal of the match in extra time, helping his nation become the world champions.

UEFA European Championship – 4 (1964, 2008, 2012, 2024)

Having won the Euros just once before in 1964, La Roja claimed back-to-back titles on either side of their World Cup triumph. After seven years without a trophy, they became the European champions once again in 2024, beating England 2-1 in the final, courtesy of Mikel Oyarzabal’s late goal.

UEFA Nations League – 1 (2023)

La Roja ended their title drought by clinching the Nations League three years ago. They were near-flawless throughout the campaign, beating Italy 2-1 in the semi-finals, with Joselu scoring in the 88th minute. The final against Croatia went to penalties, with La Roja edging 5-4.

Other trophies

Spain also won the Olympic silver medal in the 1920 Summer Games in Antwerp, beating the Netherlands 3-1 in the playoff game. In addition, they finished as runners-up in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, the 1984 Euros, and the 2021 and 2025 Nations League.
