Spain name squad for September-October international window; Ferran Torres called up

Core winning squad of La Roja from FIFA World Cup 2026 has been retained.

Spain national football team will be back in action after winning the FIFA World Cup 2026 competition. La Roja defeated Lionel Messi’s Argentina 1-0 in the tournament final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
World Cup-winning coach De la Fuente has named a total of 26 players for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games in September and October. Their first test will be the Three Lions on 26 September.
After that, they will have their eyes set on facing Croatia. They will face them once again on 6 October, which be their last match of this international break.
In the middle of those two games against the Chequered Ones, La Roja have an assignment on 3 October against Czechia.

“Roberto (Fernández) is a player we’ve been keeping a close eye on, and now is his moment. He has six goals,” said Luis de la Fuente, Spain national team head coach.
Since Joan Garcia isn’t available, the coach has picked Josep Martínez. Goalkeepers David Raya and Unai Simón also keep their place.
In defence, similar faces will be out there on the field – Dean Huijsen, Cucurella, Grimaldo, Pedro Porro, and Eric García, and others. New Barcelona player Rodri is another familiar name from the World Cup team.
Top attackers like Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, and Ferran Torres will be part of the frontline.
