Neither Spain nor the Netherlands were succesful in scoring a goal during the normal time. Andreas Iniesta stepped up to give a 1-0 advantage to La Roja in the 116th minute. The Spain national football team went on to clinch the World Cup crown after scoring just one goal. Iniesta was also named the Player of the Match.
