Mizoram ,DG NCC ,Shillong Lajong , SAI,Tripura,Manipur,Indonesia ,Clube Atletico Paranaense and Central Coast Mariners won their matches on day 32 of Subroto Cup 2016...
SAI’s Junior National Talent Scouting Project JLN Stadium (SAI) defeated MWE Higher Secondary School 3-1, Government High School from Mizoram humiliated Bangladesh Defence Shaheen College 8-0, Club Atletico Paraneanse scored a passive 2-0 win over Afghanistan National Football Team and Shillong Lajong FC registered a 4-0 triumph against Delhi Dynamos FC to seal their quarterfinal berths in the 57th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament here today. In the quarter-finals to be played on Monday at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, after a day of rest tomorrow, SAI will take on the Mizoram boys while the Brazilians will face-off with Shillong Lajong in what seem to be interesting contests. The SAI team picked up where they had left off yesterday and finished on a high in pool E, thanks to Rohit Danu who completed a hat-trick, two of his goals coming in the second half. But it was Mohammad Dilsher who put the Bihar side in the lead in the 18th minute but they couldn’t do much after that. The Brazilian side, playing a calculated game, secured their place with the brace from Thiago. The efficient and alert striker opened and closed their account within three minutes of each other—in the 34th and three minutes later during injury time and just before the teams went for the interval in pool G.Lalphula brace helped Shillong lajong to thrashed Delhi Dynamos 4-0 in Subroto Cup.
The match between Shillong and Delhi Dynamos was a mere formality, at least for the Meghalaya side. Their boys, who showed consistency throughout, had to keep it simple against their opponents. And Parvaj Bhuiya put them ahead in the 14th minute and Lal Phula consolidated with a goal two minutes before the break. On return, Nelbokstar added to the tally before Lalphula completed the rout.
As for the Mizoram outfit, Lalmalmwmtwango began the onslaught in the fifth minute which their teammates—Lalrintluanga (2), C. Lalduhawma (2), V.L. Remruata, M. Lalrintluanga and H.K. Lalruitwanga carried on until the 68th minute to finish a demolition job.
INCONSEQUENTIAL WINS
In other morning matches at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, Tripura’s Sudhannya Debbarma Memorial HS School shocked Air Force Bal Bharti School, New Delhi, 3-1, Ukhrul Hr Sec School from Manipur downed Shri Guru Govind Singh Sports College from UP 2-1 and Jalan Harsono RM Komplek from Indonesia blanked out Mohun Bagan Academy 6-0 to complete their pool engagements.
Similarly, DG NCC pounded Car Nicobar by 16-0 and Indian Railways School from Siliguri accounted for Namchi Public School from Sikkim by 4-1 at the NWC in what were the last pool games.
Central Coast Mariners FC scored an emphatic 3-0 victory over Tata Football Academy after the Mariners were put in the lead by a fifth minute goal when Mattee Cahill scored. But the Australian team had to labour for a long period before they could up the ante—Zac Forzith and Tasper Duckworty adding to the tally in the 56th and 61st minutes—in the afternoon match in pool G. In essence, all these matches had mere academic interests as the quarterfinals from each of the remaining four pools were, more or less, spotted yesterday but confirmed only today.
Both the quarterfinal will be played on 17th October .
