The Frenchman is wary of the threat posed by his side's opponents in the final.
After a scintillating semi-final round in the Spanish Super Cup, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane believes his team is ready to win it. According to realmadrid.com, the Frenchman is optimistic his side can bring home the trophy despite facing a tough Atletico Madrid in the final. The final is scheduled to take place at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. Ahead of the game, Zinedine Zidane is confident his side can overcome the odds to emerge victorious at the neutral venue. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] "It's a cup final, but that doesn't change anything for us. We're happy to have reached yet another final and that's what we work for. It's in the club's DNA," he stated. "We're a big club and the players live for these kinds of games. There isn't any greater pressure as such. It's just another game, but it's an important one because there's a trophy up for grabs," he added. The road to final wasn't as easy as it looked but Real Madrid were on the right song to beat Valencia 1-3 away. On the other hand, Atletico Madrid had a close encounter at Barcelona and surprised the hosts with a 2-3 win at Camp Nou. Two late goals from Angel Correa and former Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata meant Atletico completed a superb comeback victory. The game on Friday witnessed an excellent performance from young forward Joao Felix as well. Speaking about the player, Zinedine Zidane said, "I'm in no doubt that he's a player for the present and the future. He's a very good footballer and Atlético have signed him because he's the future. There's no question about that." [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] "It looked like Barcelona were going to win but that's not how it turned out. Atlético kept going until the end and they turned things around. We may think that playing against Atlético is different to facing Barcelona, but they're a very strong side," he added. Further, Zidane also expressed his opinion on his second stint at the Santiago Bernabeu. "I consider myself to be better than I was in my first stint and I'm progressing." "In life, and not just as a coach, we learn from situations and the people around us. I really like to listen to those who work with me because they're very good at what they do. That allows me to develop as a coach and person. That's my target." That's the decision the RFEF (Spanish Football Federation) and we accept it." "We're lucky enough to involve in the competition and have taken the opportunity to compete in it. And we want to win all of the competitions we're involved in," concluded Zinedine Zidane.Latest News
