The Schweizer-Nati are making their fourth quarter-final appearance in the World Cup.

Switzerland take on Argentina in the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on July 11. This marks their best-ever finish in the quadrennial tournament, having finished in the last eight three times before.

The Nati secured a penalty-shootout win over Colombia in the Round of 16. After a goalless draw in regulation time, Ruben Vargas scored the winning penalty for his side to send them to the quarter-finals.

The Schweizer-Nati have appeared in three quarter-finals in the World Cup, but they lost in all of them. They will look to go one step further in the expanded 48-team edition this year.

They will face a tough test against La Albiceleste, with Lionel Messi and Co. looking to defend their World Cup title. The South American side secured a 3-2 win over Egypt in the last match, with Cristian Romero, Lionel Messi, and Enzo Fernandez scoring for them.
