The Manchester Derby has seen one of the greatest players in football history. During the Sir Alex Ferguson era, the Red side of Manchester always had the upper hand. However, the Cityzens have now regained their dominance in thy city. Currently, the city is truly blue because of Pep Guardiola and his team's rampant domination in the recent past.

10. Paul Scholes (Manchester United) - 7 Goals

This Englishman is without a doubt one of the best midfielders in the Premier League era. In high-pressure games like the Manchester derby, Scholes always proved to be incredibly important and rose to occasion. The legendary midfielder scored 7 goals against their arch-rival Manchester City and played big role in keeping the city red. 

9. Joe Spence (Manchester United) - 8 Goals

Manchester United’s legendary striker was the only player from 1919-1933 who could literally stop the heartbeat of fans with his breathtaking performances. Spence scored eight goals against the Cityzens. Overall, he played 481 games for United and made his mark with 158 goals across competitions. Unfortunately, the United legend never won any major trophy with the club. 

8. Brian Kidd (Manchester United, Manchester City) - 8 Goals

The Manchester derby has had very few players who have enjoyed success on both sides and Kidd is one of them. The Englishman found the nets eight times in one of the biggest rivalries in English football. Kidd has five goals with Manchester United and three goals for City in the derby. The striker was more successful with the United side and won a Champions League trophy with them.

7. Eric Cantona (Manchester United) - 8 Goals

Eric Cantona is one biggest names in United’s history and the one who changed their history forever. Cantona was voted as the best United player ever in 2003 by a United magazine because of his instrumental efforts which changed their fortunes post-Munich disaster. Cantona was very solid for the Red Devils with superb quality on the ball and his versatility in the attacking third. The French striker scored eight goals against the Cityzens.

6. Colin Bell (Manchester City) - 8 Goals

Manchester City has always been lucky to have some of the most-talented midfielders in the world. Colin Bell was one of them during the 60s and 70s. During his time with the club, Bell dented United's hopes by scoring eight times on derby days. He is the fourth highest goal scorer in Manchester City's history.  

5. Sir Bobby Charlton (Manchester United) - 9 Goals

In European football, Manchester United has a very rich history, and Sir Bobby Charlton is one of the reasons for that. The United legend was a driving force in front of goal and was equally ruthless in the derby, scoring nine times. The World Cup and Ballon-D'Or winner had outstanding game awareness and the qualities to assist teammates from anywhere. Sir Bobby Charlton is also the second highest-scorer in United history, just behind Wayne Rooney.

4. Sergio Agüero (Manchester City) - 9 Goals

The Argentine striker had a sudden sad end to his career last season. However, his contribution to City’s rise to domination is invaluable and will be remembered forever. Aguero scored nine goals in the Manchester Derby, making him a nightmare for the United defence. Aguero's last-minute Premier League-winning goal in 2011-12 still haunts United fans, despite not coming in the Manchester derby. He is the all time highest goal-scorer in Man City’s history.

Manchester City's Francis Lee is one of the most prolific strikers in the club's history. In the Manchester derby, the Englishman always turned on his beast mode. Lee possessed all qualities of a proper striker. The English man possessed brilliant speed and was sturdy as well. He scored 10 times in the derby. 

2. Joe Hayes (Manchester City) - 10 Goals

Joe Hayes was one of the most consistent performers for the Cityzens during the 1950s and early 1960s. Following that, the Englishman suffered a career-threatening knee injury that prevented him from reaching his full potential. In 331 games with the Man City team, Hayes scored 142 goals. The English Striker also scored 10 goals in the Manchester Derby during his time with the Cityzens.

The Legendary English striker is United’s all-time top goal scorer and also the highest scorer in the Manchester derby. Rooney was an excellent finisher with amazing movement both on and off-the-ball. In the rivalry of Manchester, the Englishman has scored 11 goals and was an indispensable member during United’s domination era.
