Top five youngsters in Premier League that can make it big
The English top division league has been the home to some of the brightest prospects in world football.
The Premier League has seen its fair share of young talents. Some of them, despite bursting onto the scene at a very young age, failed to make it big. However, some of them went on to become the biggest names in the world of football. The likes of Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo are just a few of many. The league sees new and young superstars-in-the-making come out season after season.
Here is a look at five young players in the Premier League that can make it big in the coming years.
James Garner
James Garner was a very important player for Nottingham Forest in their quest back to the Premier League last season. The 21-year old midfielder was on loan from Manchester United. Garner scored four goals and provided eight assists from the midfield in 36 starts for Forest.
However, it is still a doubt on what colours Garner will be playing for in the upcoming season. Will he be called back by Manchester United or be back on loan is something we will find out in the upcoming days.
Djed Spence
Nottingham Forest’s return to the Premier League has been on the back of some very talented youngsters. After Garner, Djed Spence is another Forest player who makes the list. The 21-year old was phenomenal as the right-back for Forest, having a good balance of defence and attack in him.
On loan from Middlesbrough, Djed is now back with his parent club. But with the likes of Tottenham knocking on the door to sign the right-back, it is very likely that Spence will be excelling in the Premier League next season.
Jacob Ramsey
Jacob Ramsey is a product of the Aston Villa Academy. The young midfielder joined the club when he was six and last season he finally got the chance to properly represent his boyhood club. He took full advantage of his opportunity as the midfielder went on to score six goals and provided an assist, cementing his position as a key player on the Villa side.
Jacob Ramsey’s successful season saw him win Aston Villa’s young player of the season award and also the player’s player of the season chosen by his teammates.
Tino Livramento
Another right-back on the list, Valentino Livramento was one of the finds of last season. Signing for Southampton after failing to break into the Chelsea first team, it didn’t take him long to cement his place in the Southampton starting XI. The youngster was one of the most consistent players for Southampton last season. However, he couldn’t see out the season because of an injury towards the latter part of the season. The 19-year old made 25 starts for Southampton last season.
Conor Gallagher
Conor Gallagher is one of the members of Chelsea’s long list of loanees. Having joined Crystal Palace on loan ahead of last season, Gallagher was a pivotal member of Viera’s side. The box-to-box midfielder has an immense work rate equally good at attacking and defending. Gallagher made 33 appearances for Palace last season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
It is to be seen if the youngster plays for Chelsea next season or will be loaned out again, but it is no doubt that Gallagher will be a name we will be hearing in the coming years.
