Top five youngest goalscorers for Spain national football team

Many youngsters have impressed for La Roja over the years
Jeremy Pino scored his maiden goal for the Spain national team against Iceland in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on March 30, 2022. He came off the bench to find the back of the net in his fourth senior appearance. The Villarreal star was just 19 years and 160 days at the time of the strike. This makes him one of the youngest goalscorers in the history of the Spanish team.
Pino is the latest among a line of several teenagers to have scored a goal on debut for the La Roja. Here are the five youngest goalscorers for Spain.
5. Juan Manuel Asensi
The Spaniard enjoyed his spell at Barcelona. He spent 11 seasons with the Catalan outfit, winning La Liga and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. But, his debut for the Spanish national team came prior to his move to Catalonia.
He made his first appearance for Spain while playing for Elche. Juan Manuel Asensi scored on his national team debut in the 1970 World Cup Qualifiers against Belgium. The midfielder was 19 years and 05 months old at the time of the strike, making him one of the youngest goalscorers for Spain. He went on to play 41 games for the Spanish side, scoring seven goals for them.
4. Julen Guerrero
Born in the Basque region of Spain, the midfielder spent his entire career with Athletic Bilbao. He played over 400 games for the La Liga side. Guerrero made his national team debut at 19 years of age.
The Basque footballer represented Spain 41 times, scoring 13 goals. His first striker for La Roja came against Lithuania in the 1994 World Cup Qualifiers. This strike made him one of the youngest goalscorers for Spain. Guerrero was 19 years 04 months and 26 years old at the time.
3. Jaime Lazcano
The Pamplona-born footballer is one of the very few players to play for both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. He enjoyed a successful spell with the Los Blancos. Lazcano won La Liga twice and Copa del Rey once. He scored Real Madrid’s first goal in La Liga.
Jaime Lazcano had a short career for Spain. He made only five appearances for the national team. His only goal came against England in an international friendly in 1929. The attacker was 19 years 04 months and 15 days of age at the time.
2. Juan Errazquin
Despite being born in Argentina, the forward represented Spain at the international level. He spent his entire career at Real Union. Errazquin won the Copa del Rey with them at the age of 17. He also had a great goalscoring record for Spain.
Juan Errazquin made his debut for the national team against Switzerland. He scored all the goals in a comfortable 3-0 win. At the age of 18 years 11 months and 10 days, he became Spain’s youngest goalscorer. The striker held the record for 95 years.
He made six appearances for Spain, scoring six times. Errazquin had a short footballing career as he passed away at the age of 24 due to illness.
1 Ansu Fati
The Barcelona forward has smashed records since his professional debut. He is Spain’s youngest goalscorer of all-time. In addition, he is also the second youngest footballer to represent La Roja. The striker is also the youngest Barcelona player to score a goal for the club.
Ansu Fati became Spain’s youngest scorer with a strike against Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League in 2020. Aged 17 years 10 months and 06 days, he surpassed Juan Errazquin’s 95-year-old record. The forward achieved the feat on his first full start.
