Every tournament produces some breakout stars and this one will be no different.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup is just a month away and the buzz surrounding it is starting to get louder and louder with each passing day. The month-long mega event will witness the best players performing in their national jerseys, trying to win the coveted prize for their nation. The World Cup will also see a lot of talented youngsters get the necessary limelight as well as come into the fray of world football for the very first time from a lesser known space.

We take a look at five such young players who have the ability to take the tournament by storm.

5. Timo Werner- Germany

Werner is expected to fill the boots of the legendary Miroslav Klose

The 22-year-old forward has already proved his mettle in the Bundesliga and also in the international arena. The German prodigy is having a phenomenal spell with German side RB Leipzig. The youngster has already amassed 40 goals from 61 appearances for Leipzig. Werner scored a record seven goals at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, which helped Germany to win the title as well as securing the Golden Boot for himself.

His ability to run past defenders and clinical finishing in front of goal makes him the perfect player to lead the attacking tactics of Low's side as well as one of the hot prospects for the World Cup in Russia.

4. Gabriel Jesus- Brazil

Jesus has been an integral part of Manchester City's title-winning campaign this season

The Brazilian starlet has all the abilities to be a world-beater on his day and he has proved it multiple times this season. The 21-year-old has established himself as a regular member of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. Jesus has scored 16 goals from 39 appearances for the Etihad-based side this campaign across all competitions. His ability to play in various positions ranging from the wings to a central role gives him an edge to board Brazil's flight to Russia this summer.

The striker already has 16 national caps as well as nine goals for them. Jesus has been in a valiant form throughout the season, continuity of which will see him become one of the standout performers in Russia this year.

 3. Jose Gimenez- Uruguay

2. Leroy Sane- Germany

German Winger has been on fire this season

The 22-year-old pacy German winger has been wrecking havoc in the Premier League. His ability to run past defenders at pace and provide neat passes in the middle played an important role in City's wonderful run to the title this season.

The youngster would surely like to transfer his tremendous form at City to the Die Mannschaft. He has a great chance to prove his mettle as he is likely to be in the starting XI ahead of the injury-prone Andre Schurrle. 

Sane has failed to live up to his standards in international football as the youngster has failed to score a single goal in 11 caps for Germany. However, his hunger to prove himself in national colours makes him a definite hot prospect at the 2018 World Cup. 

1. Kylian Mbappe- France

Mbappe is expected to the star forward of the Les Bleus in Russia

The 19-year-old Frenchman is already boasting a market value of €180m which speaks volumes about the talent he has. Mbappe is one of the most sought-after strikers in the world at the moment.

The youngster is having a wonderful loan stint at PSG scoring 21 times from 39 appearances. He has already won the European Golden Boy award and a place in the Champions League Team of the Season from the little football he has played so far.

The Frenchman has already netted three goals in 12 caps for Les Bleus. With his lethal finishing skills and swift movements across the pitch, Mbappe is surely going to be a nuisance for France's opponents in the World Cup.
