Top ten budget options in Fantasy Premier League next season
The highly popular competition will have several lesser known yet exciting players to choose from.
Fantasy Premier League, one of the world’s most popular fantasy football tournament, is set to resume in tandem with the new season of the Premier League. The 2020-21 campaign will commence on September 12, 2020 and will also kick off the fantasy football tournament, slated to be played by over 4 million players worldwide.
Every year there are the usual star players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah and Jamie Vardy among others that are selected by the majority of the crowd. However, the teams are going to be much diverse this time around with staggered pricing, compelling users to opt for lesser known players to complete their teams.
Therefore, we take a look at ten of the hidden gems in Fantasy Premier League 2020-21, which under the radar, would bring in a lot of points for their owners.
10. Nick Pope (GK) - £5.5m
Burnley finished 10th in the 2019-20 standings, largely because of their exceptional goalkeeper, Nick Pope and his 15 clean sheets. The young Englishman is sure to pick up from where he left off and is a much cheaper option compared to other goalkeepers in the running.
9. Aaron Ramsdale (GK) - £5.0m
It’s a shame that AFC Bournemouth were relegated last season since Aaron Ramsdale had put in exceptional performances in the latter stages of the league and did not deserve to go down with the club. However, with Dean Henderson returning to Manchester United, Ramsdale has been roped in by Sheffield United and is a very decent option for Fantasy Premier League players £5m.
8. Kieran Tierney (DF) - £5.5m
Kieran Tierney had a patchy start to his Arsenal career, but the full-back has recently shown what he’s capable of. At £5.5 m, the marauding left-back is a great option for Fantasy Premier League managers, who would be raring to start his first full campaign with the gunners, with seemingly no competition for a starting place in the lineup.
7. Ben White (DF) - £4.5m
Ben White is not a household name in the Premier League but Brighton & Hove Albion are trembling with excitement to see him play for them in the league this season. Ben had a sensational season with Leeds United in the Championship and was a big factor in their promotion. At £4.5m the defender is expected to be a regular starter and can play in advanced roles as well, ticking many boxes.
6. Lucas Digne (DF) - £6.0m
Lucas Digne has been collecting valuable points under the radar for a couple of seasons now. The left-back is exceptional in his crossing ability and also chips in assists from corner kicks and also has the capability to score from direct free-kicks.
5. Eberechi Eze (MF) - £6.0m
Another exciting figure entering the Premier League from the Championship is Eberechi Eze who has moved to Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers after scoring 14 goals and making eight assists last season. The attacking midfielder is an overall powerhouse, has good shooting ability, deadly from set-piece situations and might also take over as the designated penalty taker from Milivojevic.
4. Mason Greenwood (MF) - £7.5m
Mason Greenwood is slowly fulfilling the buckets of talent he has in his store and is surely going to hit the season in top gear. The 18-year-old is a big part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attacking trio and being a midfielder in FPL, is sure to collect many points playing in any of the forward positions in a flexible United front three. He scored 10 goals and made six assists in his breakthrough campaign.

3. Adama Traore (MF) - £6.5m
Adama Traore is surprisingly a comparatively cheap option at £6.5m for a player in the Fantasy Premier League who starts regularly and is a constant threat owing to his speed and crossing ability. Contributing with four goals and nine assists in the last campaign, players can select him to complete their squads without a shadow of a doubt.
2. Rodrigo Moreno (FW) - £6.0m
Leeds United are back in the Premier League after 16 years and have already made a statement signing by breaking their transfer fee record, by splashing £26 million on Spanish striker, Rodrigo Moreno. The forward can be bought in a very cheap rate of £6.0m in the Fantasy Premier League and is expected to start regularly. Rodrigo had seven goals and 11 assists for Valencia last season, which makes him one of the few new faces to watch out for.
1. Raul Jimenez (FW) - £8.5m
Raul Jimenez is a well-known figure in the league now, but is often overlooked for the likes of Jamie Vardy, Anthony Martial or Sergio Aguero etc. At £8.5m, Jimenez is still a viable option and can be an important differential. Scoring 194 points (17 goals and six assists) in the last term (fourth highest), selecting the Mexican might be a stroke of genius.
