Roberto De Zerbi will take full charge of Spurs for the first time for the entire season.

Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s 2026/27 campaign, Spurs will start their preparation for the new season with a few pre-season matches.

After two disastrous domestic seasons, the second of which nearly resulted in relegation, Spurs’ fans are getting excited about Roberto De Zerbi’s first complete season in charge. It’s not only because the Italian is leading the way; Spurs have also been active in the transfer market.

De Zerbi will have plenty of opportunities to test out his new players this summer. Players returned to Hotspur Way on July 10 for the start of preseason. Meanwhile, those who were away at the World Cup will have some much-needed rest.

They will eventually join the rest of the squad, including new addition Jan Paul van Hecke. De Zerbi will put his available players through their paces in a behind-closed-doors friendly against League One club MK Dons on July 22 at the training complex. Supporters may get an early look at the possibly new additions before the new season begins.

We have a full Spurs pre-season planned, including a trip to Australia. Here’s all you need to know about Spurs’ 2026 pre-season.
