Great run for Getafe as their pre-season comes to an end. Meanwhile, a bit of positive news for Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. They managed to draw after a 2-1 defeat to London outfit Chelsea in their last game.
It was Risco’s left-footed volley effort that helped Getafe pop a goal in the second half (56′). Meanwhile, Conor Gallagher scored for Roberto De Zerbi’s side in the 69th minute.

Alberto Risco scored a stunning goal from left foot. It was a volley goal. The centre attacking midfielder took his chance between two opposition players.
Just 13 minutes after Getafe stunned Spurs, it was Conor Gallagher who showed his level. His amazing burst of speed did the magic. When the ball was left loose near the edge of the opposition box, he reacted the fastest.
His desire to change the ball helped scored the leveller for the English side almost at the end of the game.
2. The match was 70 minutes long
Instead of the usual 90 minutes of a football match, this pre-season game was fairly different. Instead of two halves of 45 minutes each, this one used one with 35 minutes each. So, the total normal time run out of this match was 70 minutes.
3. The match ended in a 1-1 draw
Not a bad result for either side. Both Tottenham Hotspur and Getafe scored a goal each. They settled for a 1-1 draw.
4. Getafe played their final pre-season match ahead of 2026-27 season
Spanish side Getafe ended their pre-season run on somewhat of a high. They managed not to lose against a good Premier League side like Tottenham. All in all left a good impression ahead of the LaLiga 2026-27 season.
In just seven days, they will play Alavés to begin their league campaign.
