Bayern Munich confirm Leroy Sane interest, unlikely to sign TImo Werner

The Bavarians have openly talked about bringing Sane in Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has confirmed the Bundesliga club's interest in Manchester City's German winger Leroy Sane. Leroy Sane is seen by the German champions as a direct replacement for the departing Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery.

The Bundesliga champions are in the process of a complete rebuild of the squad and have already made some stellar signings in Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez among others. Now the Hoeness has affirmed their interest in Manchester City's winger.

Leroy Sane has struggled for regular football under Pep Guardiola. The arrival of Riyad Mahrez and the rise of versatile Bernardo Silva along with the poor attitude of the German international have contributed to the 23-year-olds lack of game time.

Speaking with Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Uli Hoeness said, "We are dealing with this player [Leroy Sane]."

Meanwhile, RB Leipzig manager Ralf Ragnik is confident about Bayern not chasing Timo Werner. The German international forward is said to be the replacement of the ageing Robert Lewandowski.

But the recent performances of the Polish striker seems to have convinced the Bayern officials that there's no need to sign Timo Werner who is also chased by a number of Premier League clubs. The Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff has already hinted the possible destinations for Werner with Bayern Munich not one of them.

And now the manager of RB Leipzig has confirmed that there's a high possibility of it not happening since Bayern haven't officially shown their interest in the Bundesliga player.

"I would not be so sure that Werner will actually go to Bayern," Rangnick told Sport Bild.

"If Bayern were absolutely sure about Timo, they would have already officially contacted us with a request. Anything else would be unusual for Bayern, especially since we have a good relationship with them.

"Our position has not changed: we do not want him to go into the last year of his contract without an extension."
