Top five goal scorers in UEFA Europa League 2021/22

On May 18, 2022, Eintracht Frankfurt created history by defeating Rangers and clinching the Europa League 2021/22 trophy. It was their first European trophy in 42 years. The tournament also brought to light some amazing players who scored a lot of goals.
In this article, we will cover the top five goal scorers of the Europa League 2021/22.
5. Daichi Kamada (5 goals)
The only player to feature from the winning side in this list is Japan’s Daichi Kamada. The 25-year-old midfielder had a good Europa League scoring five goals and providing one assist in 13 games. He also had an excellent pass accuracy doing the course of the tournament which stood at 81.85%. In Bundesliga, he netted four times in 32 appearances season. As per reports, he is also eyed by Tottenham Hotspur in the upcoming transfer window.
4. Patson Daka (5 goals)
Patson Daka is next to follow on this list. The Zambian was in excellent form scoring five goals in six games. He also had a staggering 18 attempts in these six games with a pass accuracy of 74.5%. The 23-year-old had an average Premier League season with five goals in 23 appearances for the Foxes. He has signed for Leicester this season only and has shown his impact.
3. Galeno (6 goals)
Wenderson Rodrigues do Nascimento Galeno, popularly known as Galeno is a Brazilian attacker who plays for FC Porto. The winger has scored six goals in 10 games. The 24-year-old has been in average form this season scoring 11 goals and providing 3 assists in 41 appearances. Galeno played for both SC Braga and FC Porto in the Europa League this season. His transfer to Porto was confirmed on 31st January 2022.
2. Toko Ekambi (6 goals)
Karl Toko Ekambi is a Cameroon national playing for Lyon in Ligue 1. The forward has scored six goals in 10 games, providing two assists and a total of 25 attempts on goal. Ekambi also had an excellent pass accuracy of 83.8% in the tournament.. In Ligue 1 this season, the 29-year-old has 12 goals in 29 appearances.
1. James Tavernier (7 goals)
Very rarely do we see a defender making to the list of top goal scorers of the tournament. English international and Rangers full-back James Tavernier is an exception though. The full-back not only features in this list but also tops the list of highest goal scorers. Tavernier scored sve goals in this tournament. He also provided three assists in 15 appearances. The right-back has a decent goal-scoring record in the Scottish Championship as well. In 35 appearances he found the net nine times. Being the captain of this side, he was instrumental in guiding Rangers to the Europa League 2021/22 finals.
