The Red Devils will host the return leg on 27th February.

Despite Anthony Martial's equalizer for Manchester United in their Europa League stalemate with Club Brugge, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not satisfied with several issues surrounding the match away from home.

The Norwegian was not happy with the weather conditions as the Red Devils only managed an away goal in a 1-1 draw. Apart from the weather, he also complained against a wobbly pitch and the match ball handed over by the UEFA.

The hosts struck first blood when Emannuel Dennis took full advantage of Sergio Romero's misjudgement from a Simon Mignolet goal kick. But Solskjaer felt, more than Brugge, it was the conditions and other factors which held his team back in a 1-1 draw.

“It was a difficult game against a well-organised team in difficult conditions,” he said at the post-match press conference.

“I don’t think it was one of the best games that anyone’s seen."

“We were a bit sloppy, concentration-wise, and the conditions, with the pitch and ball, made it hard. You can ask any of the players, that ball does not help when you want to play football."

“It’s just different and difficult to play with, but it’s the same for the two teams of course. It’s light – you should get one and try it.”

However Brugge manager Philippe Clement totally rubbished Solskjaer's claims and on top of that went on to complain about Sergio Romero's double legged challenge on Dennis early in the game.

“We get the balls from UEFA, so it’s not our ball,” Clement told reporters.

“In the Europa League games, it’s the same balls, so I don’t see a problem with that.

“For me, it’s a clear penalty if I see the images, and in some countries, it’s a red card. If you go with two feet forward against the leg of somebody, it’s a red card."

“All the circumstances need to go your way if you’re going to beat United, and tonight we didn’t get that.”

Manchester United will now shift their focus back in the Premier League where the Red Devils will host Watford on Sunday followed by the reverse fixture against Brugge at the Old Trafford on February 27.

The only positive from this game for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the team has to be Martial's away goal which will give them the edge over their Belgian rivals.
