Uruguay name squad for September-October international window; Federico Valverde called up

New coach Diego Forlán has finally picked his first Uruguay main team for an international window.
A total of 26 Uruguay players are being called up by Forlán for the forthcoming matches during the September-October international window. The group obviously has Real Madrid star Federico Valverde.
In the goalkeeping department, three players have been chosen: Santiago Mele, Christopher Fiermarin, and Thiago Cardozo. To protect the last men, reliable heads are included in for the defensive duties. Ronald Araujo, who is on loan at Liverpool from FC Barcelona, has been called up.
Another familiar face gets a nod in the defence – Jose Maria Gimenez. Gimenez was a regular in Atletico de Madrid ranks only until this summer. After being associated with the club since 2013, they decided to send him on loan to another LaLiga club, Deportivo A Coruña.
Other defensive faces include Mathias Olivera, Juan Manuel Sanabria, and Joaquin Piquerez.
The midfield boasts Valverde, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Torreira, and Facundo Pellistri.
Who says national teams don’t give priority to players from Saudi Pro League? Darwin Nunez clearly dismisses that myth. Even though the player no longer plays for Liverpool, Nunez, who is now on-loan at Al-Diriyah, has been called up!
The rest of the forward group has names of Martin Satriano, Rodrigo Aguirre, and Federico Vinas.
