The hosts are trying to find consistency in results...

DSK Shivajians face an Aizawl side rich in form, winning 4 and drawing 1 from their last five games. The club from Mizoram beat Mumbai FC 2-0 at home at the weekend, and will be hopeful of completing the double over the Pune side on Tuesday.

Aizawl’s run has been a great story for Indian football, with local players coming to the fore in front of thousands of loyal supporters, the club has been a huge credit to itself. Going into round thirteen of the Hero I-League, the north-eastern club find themselves in second position, a point off table toppers Kingfisher East Bengal.

DSK Shivajians themselves have been a big positive in Indian football, with their focus on the youth proving to be a great help to the development of football. While their performances have been often brilliant, results have eluded the Shivajians. After 12 games in the season, DSK have amassed 13 points so far.

The hosts are coming in to this game after a tough away encounter vs newcomers Chennai City FC where Shane McFaul's 92nd minute equaliser rescued a draw for his side. DSK's matchday squad consisted of 7 U-22 players on the night, yet one might argue their performance merited a better result.

Team News

DSK can be expected to make multiple changes to their starting XI considering that they played their game in Chennai only two days ago. That could mean Jerry Lalrinzuala and Holicharan Narzary come back into the side.

For the visitors, having one more recovery day means they could go with a steadier line up for the game in Pune. The likes of Brandon Vanlalremdika and Bayi Kamo, the match winner from the weekend are both expected to continue to start.

Head to Head

Aizawl have won all the three games played between these teams so far. Aizawl won the reverse fixture 1-0 earlier in the season.

Coach’s Corner

Dave Rogers, manager of DSK Shivajians greatly praised the Aizawl, and the job Khalid Jamil has done at the club in his pre match thoughts, stating, “We got some fantastic talent in the country, fantastic coaches, clubs and the gentleman sitting next to me is a vivid proof of that. Aizwal are a great club with great fans, good players. The synergy has been perfect this season and that’s the reason behind their success this season. You know, a football club is not it’s on-field credibility but off the pitch as well."

Khalid Jamil has enjoyed a fruitful season with Aizawl FC and the highly rated coach simply wanted his team to go and enjoy the game. “I am feeling really good and positive. We are playing against a good team, nonetheless, I want my boys to go and enjoy the game,” he stated.

Man to Watch

Aizawl FC-Brandon Vanlalremdeika: The 23-year-old forward has been in great form for Aizawl FC. After making his debut for his team last season, he has added a final product to his play this season. The boy from Mizoram has scored three goals in eight appearances this season, including the winner against Chennai City FC a couple of weeks ago. He could prove troublesome for the DSK Shivajians backline.

DSK Shivajians-Holicharan Narzary: Holicharan has been a great find for Indian football over the reccent times, producing great performances regularly for NorthEast United FC in the ISL 2016 and now for Dave Rogers' DSK side. The 22-year-old forward was scintillating in the side's 2-2 draw against Bengaluru FC, in DSK's last home game. Narzary had managed to score both goals that evening and will be looking for more on Tuesday as he's expected to return to the playing XI for a crunch home game.
