Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Fulham to sell forward Gonzalo García for €40 million, with €2m future add-ons to the Cottagers. García, a homegrown player from the Real Madrid academy, had a significant impact during the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer of 2025.
He entered the senior team for the 2025/26 season. But only played as a replacement for Kylian Mbappé. He scored eight goals overall, including six in LaLiga.
At Fulham, he will reunite with manager Álvaro Arbeloa, with whom he previously worked at Real Madrid Castilla, their B team, and later the senior side.
Following Arbeloa’s advice, Fulham are thought to be considering signing midfielder César Palacios. The latter previously played for Real Madrid Castilla and made five senior appearances last season.
