The teenager announced himself instantly with a goal.
The Xabi Alonso era at Chelsea is underway, with new recruit Dastan Satpaev scoring the first goal.
After just six minutes, the Blues scored against Western Sydney Wanderers thanks to a brilliant team move that ran from back to front, tore through the defenders in seven passes, and concluded with Kazakhstani teenage star Dastan Satpaev coolly finishing into the top corner.
Despite starting with a young starting lineup against the Wanderers, the Premier League heavyweights got off to an incredibly quick start with big names on the bench.
The 17-year-old carried the ball into the area, glided past Jordan Holmes, and blasted his finish into the back of the net. Because of his age and visa limitations, he is not yet legally a Chelsea player.
Who is Dastan Satpaev?
Born in Almaty, a big city in Kazakhstan, on August 12, 2008, Satpaev joined Kairat’s youth levels at the age of eight. Local sports reporters praised Satpaev as a “genius” and a “prodigy” at an early age because of something exceptional about him.
Satpaev was called up into Kairat’s Under-18 team at the age of 15, despite being at least two years younger than the majority of his rivals. Despite this, he continued to embarrass the opposition. He scored 26 goals and dished out 10 assists in 28 games during the developing QJ League’s 2023 and 2024 seasons. He was named the competition’s MVP for the second of both seasons.
Satpaev earned his senior debut at the age of 15 in March 2024, coming off the bench in a 9-0 victory over Akzhayik in Kazakhstan’s League Cup. Dastan Satpaev was invited into Kairat’s first-team squad around the beginning of their 2024 season due to his scoring prowess in the QJ League.
Chelsea had seen enough by February of that year after he was promoted to a permanent member of the first team for the 2025 Kazakh season. The Premier League heavyweights agreed to pay Kairat £3.5 million ($4.7 million) to acquire Dastan Satpaev as part of their recruitment quest to sign the world’s greatest young talent.
Dastan Satpaev’s playing style
Given how effortlessly Dastan Satpaev beat his opponents, Chelsea were obviously persuaded by him. The teenager can get five yards away from his marks in a matter of seconds, ready to shoot, which is a terrifying burst of speed.
Although Dastan Satpayev is generally right-footed, he can provide power and accuracy on either foot when the ball comes to him in an instant.
How old is Dastan Satpaev?
He is 17 years old.
Which club does he play for?
He is on loan at FC Kairat and will join Chelsea when he turns 18.
