Diego Sánchez was born in Monterrey, Mexico, on 12 April 2005 and rose through the Club Tigres U-21 divisions, where he excelled as a left winger, a position he now plays for Mexico’s young national teams.
Sánchez started out in his career with Tigres UANL’s academy, passing through all levels before making his professional debut on March 17, 2023, when he was substituted in the 85th minute of a 5-1 victory against Mazatlan. On August 8, 2025, he scored his first professional goal in a 7-0 triumph over Puebla.

He began his professional career with Tigres’ first squad, competing in domestic competitions and scoring goals and making appearances that have fans excited about the future.
Sánchez rose through the Club Tigres youth divisions before joining the main team. Despite his very small size for professional football, his quickness and energetic approach gained him valuable guidance from older players like André-Pierre Gignac.
He signed a contract deal that keeps him at Tigres until December 2027. On July 26, 2026, he scored the game-winning goal in a 2-2 tie against Atlético de San Luis during the current Liga MX Apertura season.
He was vital in winning the 2024 CONCACAF U-20 Championship and went on to represent his country in the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, where he appeared five times.
