Portugal grabbed a last-gasp goal in their dramatic 2026 World Cup knockout match against Croatia.
Goncalo Ramos, who came on in the second half to replace a distraught Cristiano Ronaldo, scored late into injury time to put Portugal through.
Ronaldo had previously equalised from the penalty spot after Ivan Perisic had given Croatia a surprise lead. However, Ramos delivered for Selecao as the winner, and they won 2-1 to advance to the round of 16.
Portugal are now set to face bitter rivals Spain in the last 16.

Gonçalo Ramos, a 25-year-old Portuguese professional striker, recenty joined AC Milan in Serie A and the Portugal national team. He is commonly referred to as “O Pistoleiro” and has exceptional finishing, mobility, and defensive work rate.
Gonçalo Ramos was born in Olhão and attended Benfica’s youth academy. He began playing for Benfica B in 2019 and was selected for the senior squad the following year. After three seasons with the first squad, Ramos established himself as a key player for the club, helping them win the league title in 2023.
He then moved to PSG. In three seasons with Paris, he played 131 games and scored 45 goals. He won 12 trophies there, including three Ligue 1 championships and two UEFA Champions League wins.
