Who is Matias Galarza? Paraguay midfielder linked to Juventus

Matias Galarza shone for Paraguay at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Juventus have been extremely active in the summer transfer window, adding several big names to their roster ahead of the start of the Serie A 2026-27 campaign. The Bianconeri are coming off a disappointing season, finishing sixth in the league and being knocked out of the Coppa Italia in the quarter-finals.
Four strikers joined the Serie A side in the summer. Lois Openda’s loan move from RB Leipzig was made permanent for €42.8m. Nice forward Jeremie Boga joined for €5m, and Jeff Ekhator signed from Genoa for €16m. French international Randal Kolo Muani joined from Paris Saint-Germain in a €41.2m deal.
Bosnian winger Kerim Alajbegovic joined from Bayer Leverkusen for €32m. Wing-back Zeki Celik signed for free from Roma. Backup goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara joined from Avellino for €1m.
However, the midfield has been a weak spot for the Old Lady. Khephren Thuram and Manuel Locatelli are the only strong midfield options for Luciano Spalletti. Douglas Luiz has flattered to deceive since joining from Aston Villa, while Arthur Melo has failed to live up to the standards in Italy.
The latest name to be linked to a switch to Juventus is Paraguayan midfielder Matias Galarza. The 24-year-old midfielder currently plays for River Plate in Argentina and is on the radar of the Bianconeri, according to a report from Tuttosport.
