Pedro Porro has scored his first international goal for Spain.

Spain have defeated Austria 3-0 in the round of 32 clash of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood, California. The deadlock was broken by Mikel Oyarzabal in the first half, who has scored four goals for La Roja in the ongoing campaign in the summer competition.

Meanwhile, after multiple attempts, La Roja finally managed to double their lead, courtesy of a header by Pedro Porro. The goal was scored on an assist from Atletico Madrid attacker Alex Baena in the 66th minute.

Porro, who made only his second start in the ongoing World Cup, scored his first international goal for La Roja. Oyarzabal later completed his brace in the 89th minute.

Pedro Porro was born on September 13, 1999, in Don Benito, Spain. He started playing football at the local academy in his hometown, Gimnástico Don Benito. In 2015, he joined the youth team of Rayo Vallecano, where he played for two years before making his senior debut for Girona’s B team, CF Peralada.

The following year, Porro made his first-team debut for Girona. In 2019, he signed for Premier League side Manchester City for a reported transfer fee of €13 million (ÂŁ11 million). However, he barely played for the Etihad outfit, as he was loaned to Real Valladolid and Sporting CP in his initial years in Manchester.

Pedro Porro joined Sporting CP on a two-year loan in 2020. During the 2020-21 season, he was named in the Portuguese league’s team of the year. Following his performance, he was signed by the Portuguese giants on a permanent deal in 2022.

For Sporting, he made 98 appearances across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 20 assists. In 2023, he returned to the Premier League by joining Tottenham Hotspur. Later that year, he signed a permanent deal with the Spurs. Since then, he has played 152 games for the North London club, recording 13 goals and 26 assists.

For La Roja, he made his senior debut in 2021, and since then, the fullback has earned 20 caps and has scored one goal.
