Racing Santander overcame a deficit to defeat Alavés 2-1 at home thanks to two goals from 21-year-old Moroccan starlet Yassir Zabiri.
After avoiding the offside trap, Zabiri equalised the score in the first half with a left-footed curling drive. He then gave Racing Santander an advantage in the second half with a near-post tap-in in the area.
Zabiri now has five goals in the first five rounds of LaLiga this season after scoring a hat-trick against Elche on Matchday 3. During the summer transfer window, Zabiri went on loan from Rennes to Racing Santander.

21-year-old Moroccan professional football player Mohamed Yassir Zabiri is currently on loan from Ligue 1 team Rennes and is playing as a center-forward for Spanish LaLiga team Racing Santander. He is now regarded as one of the most promising young attackers in European football.
He honed his abilities in Morocco’s top youth program. After that, he started his senior professional career at Union de Touarga in the Moroccan Botola league. He signed a four-year contract with the Portuguese Primeira Liga team Famalicão in 2024. During his breakthrough season, he made 12 appearances and scored 4 goals.
In February 2026, he joined Stade Rennais for €10–12 million, the French Ligue 1 team, signing a contract until June 2029.
