Manchester United star called out the club’s technical director after recent loss!

Following a 2-0 Champions League loss to Atletico Madrid, Lisandro Martínez unleashed a vicious verbal assault on Manchester United’s management, specifically targeting the director of football. He claimed the team did not adequately bolster its roster during the summer transfer window.

Diego Simeone’s squad won the match quite comfortably, and because manager Michael Carrick has only won one of his previous seven games, he is under increasing pressure to keep his job.

However, Argentine defender Martínez stated that Carrick’s superiors should be held accountable for not investing in the summer rather than the manager or players.

Compared to the rest of the Premier League, United only spent £150 million on new acquisitions.

“Really poor. Really poor,” Martínez told Amazon Prime after the game in Madrid.

“I have to control myself a lot, but sometimes it is a reflection of the mirror of how is our club at the moment.”

“We did a fantastic season last season and now we expect more from the top, more players to compete because many teams bring many players as well.”

“Atlético have an amazing team and they deserve to win today.”

“But I expect more [investment]. 100%. I expect more from our technical director [Jason Wilcox]. I have to be honest, as players we have to do more, but it is also important when you make a strong squad to be ready for this kind of night.”
