Who will officiate the Spain vs. Argentina FIFA World Cup 2026 final?

Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić will officiate the FIFA World Cup 2026 final. He has also become the first official from Slovenia to oversee the biggest match of the summer tournament. He also officiated the group stage game between Brazil and Morocco on matchday 1.

Interestingly, he was the referee in Argentina’s only defeat in the last two editions. La Albiceleste lost their last game in the tournament against Saudi Arabia during the 2022 edition. The final will be Slavko Vinčić’s 12th international game as the main referee.

He also officiated the 2022 UEFA Europa League final between Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers and the 2024 UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. However, the FIFA World Cup summit clash will be the first international final Vinčić has taken charge of.

He will be joined by other Slovenian referees, Tomaz Klancnik and Andraz Kovacic, as assistants, while Adham Makhadmeh will be the fourth official.
