Both of the last two outings between these clubs ended in favour of the Villans!

Manchester City had a visit to Villa Park for their matchweek 8 fixture of the English Premier League 2026-27 campaign. Aston Villa welcomed them in what became an interesting encounter.

The Enzo Maresca-led side have done really well since the beginning of the new season. They have secured wins in all of their first seven matches of the English top division. Manchester City, with a strong midfield and a striking attack, manage to control the tempo of the game. This is one of the strengths of the squad. The Cityzens failed to secure a win in their last two fixtures against Aston Villa.

Being away from home can be a tough challenge for Man City. They need strong control of the game from the start. Being calm and composed in the defence is going to help the visitors out.

Antoine Semenyo sustained a knee injury during the league game against Ipswich Town. The Ghana international will be out for around two months and was hence not a part of Aston Villa vs Man City Premier League 2026-27 clash.

Talking about Semenyo, Enzo Maresca said, “The rest are more or less okay. The only one that will be out for probably eight weeks is Antoine. In the first moment we expected an even worse injury so we were more worried. After yesterday’s scan we feel much better because it’s not so big like we expected.”

“It could be eight weeks. Now in this moment the most important thing for him is his recovery. When he is back around December it will be like a new player in terms of energy.”

Instead of Antoine Semenyo, Iliman Ndiaye started on the right flank and Jeremy Doku on the left for Manchester City.
