Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Al-Nassr training last week, following a more than a month-long break that began with Portugal’s exit from the World Cup 2026.
Al-Nassr’s fitness coach is preparing Ronaldo for the forthcoming matches. He missed the first two games of the season after returning late to the team’s preparation for the new season.
The striker missed out on Al-Nassr’s Roshn League opener, a 3-0 victory over Al-Fateh last Saturday. He will miss today’s King’s Cup round of 32 match against Al-Diriyah. He continues to work on his fitness.
He had a 90-minute fitness training session on Tuesday afternoon at the Dar Al-Nassr centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in preparation for his return in the coming weeks.

Cristiano Ronaldo is not included in the Al Nassr side that will face Al Diriyah in the King’s Cup Round of 32 on August 18, 2026.
He has been allowed more time to relax and recuperate following his post-World Cup holiday and personal responsibilities. Manager Ange Postecoglou is preferring to ease him back into competitive form.
After Portugal’s elimination from the FIFA World Cup 2026 on July 6, Ronaldo was given an additional recuperation period, which he will continue to take to be involved in Al Nassr practice. Once the coaching staff feels he is fit, the forward will return to action.
Despite returning to training with the club, the coaching and conditioning staff chose not to push him into play for the opening domestic matches. Ronaldo is anticipated to make his debut appearance of the 2026-27 season when Al Nassr face Al Riyadh on Friday, August 21, 2026.
