As the Manchester United teamsheet was released online for their pre-season friendly against Leeds United, one major name missing was Harry Maguire.
Maguire has been a key part of Carrick’s Red Devils ever since he took over from Ruben Amorim. The English centre-half has also been a consistent feature in the 2026 pre-season.
But fans were surprised to see his name not on the team sheet. Let’s take a look at why Maguire missed this match.

Maguire is not injured. He trained today but isn’t in today’s squad, as minutes are being spread out in pre-season, report suggest.
Maguire also travelled with the team and was present in the stadium.
