Man United have had a solid pre-season so far, and the Red Devils appear to be in good form for their August 22 Premier League opening game against Hull City in 2026–2027.
After losing 1-0 to Wrexham in their first friendly of the summer, Michael Carrick’s team went on to defeat Rosenborg 5-0 and Atletico Madrid 2-1.
The Red Devils entered the game against Leeds fresh off a 1-1 draw with the European champions Paris Saint-Germain. They have one friendly remaining on August 15 against Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan to wrap up their preseason.
Moreover, during the transfer window, they have been quite active, as Man United have added Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Karl Darlow to their roster, but they will likely be active in the later part of the summer transfer window.
Carrick’s team finished third in the Premier League the previous season, so a title push is not out of the question this year. They will also return to the Champions League in 2026–2027.

Due to a lack of training time following their post-World Cup holidays, Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo were feature for Manchester United against Leeds United.
Only a few days ago did both players return to United’s camp in Ireland. Carrick made the decision to avoid taking a chance on them too soon in the preseason.
They are likely to play their first preseason minutes against AC Milan on Saturday.
