Manchester United will travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in a crucial English Premier League 2026-27 clash on Saturday, October 31, 2026. This will be a must-win fixture for the Red Devils, who are currently lying in 16th place in the table.
Head coach Michael Carrick has overseen Manchester United’s worst start to a league campaign since 1986-87. He is under extreme pressure from the fans, although the United hierarchy has put its trust in the head coach for now.
Carrick’s bid to turn things around has suffered a blow as two players were ruled out for the upcoming clash. Both Marcus Rashford and Benjamin Sesko missed out on the matchday squad that will face the Blues tonight.

Marcus Rashford was not part of the squad, with the winger still recovering from a hip injury. The 29-year-old has been troubled by a hip issue since October, although the exact moment of the injury has not been made public.
Carrick previously confirmed that the England international was still experiencing discomfort. He was an unused substitute in United’s 1-1 draw against Leeds United on October 18. He missed the next fixtures against Como and Bournemouth.
Rashford did not take part in team training ahead of tonight’s clash and, as a result, was ruled out of the match against Chelsea.
Another key attacking player who has been ruled out is Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenian forward’s injury situation is more serious. He is expected to remain unavailable until at least January 2027 with a shin injury.
The 23-year-old missed United’s pre-season camp because of his shin injury. He has not featured for Manchester United since their Carabao Cup third-round defeat against Brighton on September 16.
According to media reports, the player has avoided surgery. However, he will undergo further medical examinations, and he has been working with United’s medical team and specialists.
