When choosing the United lineup to play Roma, Michael Carrick will have to cope with a number of injury problems, since certain players have already been ruled out.

Luke Shaw will not be playing for United. Carrick has confirmed that the left-back is still out with an injury that has prevented him from playing in the last five games.

Marcus Rashford, an England international, has also been ruled out of the United team due to a thigh and hip injury, according to Carrick.

On the eve of Manchester United’s crucial Champions League encounter against Roma, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw missed training. However, Patrick Dorgu returned for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury.

“Luke definitely won’t be around this week and fit at that point. Marcus, we’ll just have to see day by day how he keeps improving,” said Carrick.

With Saturday’s 2-0 loss at Chelsea extending the Red Devils’ miserable winless streak to a ninth game in all competitions for the first time since 1988, head coach Michael Carrick is under tremendous pressure.

On Tuesday, United will try to end that run at home against Roma. But Rashford and Shaw are already out with injuries, dimming available squad quality for Carrick.

Since their previous Champions League home game, a 4-0 triumph over Sabah 53 days ago, United are hoping to earn their first win across all competitions.
