Nahuel Molina is set to start on the bench in the Spain vs Argentina FIFA World Cup 2026 final. He has been a part of the starting XI in all of the previous knockout stage fixtures.

But for the grand finale, Lionel Scaloni has altered the squad. He will be going in with a 4-4-2 setup, and benching two of his regular starters is a tactical switch for him.

Leandro Paredes has also been benched for the Argentina national football team. Instead, Nico Gonzalez will start on the left flank.

Lionel Messi will be up ahead, leading the charge in the final third alongside Julian Alvarez in a double-striker setup. Alexis Mac Allister and Enzo Fernandez will have an important role in the midfield. On the flanks, it will be Nico Gonzalez and Rodrigo De Paul.

Gonzalo Montiel replaces Nahuel Molina at left back. He will be accompanied by Cristian Romero, Lisandro Martinez, and Nicolas Tagliafico. Emi Martinez, as usual, will be guarding the goal.
