Why did Nico O’Reilly miss out against Coventry City?

Despite being named in the starting XI, the English fullback Nico O’Reilly did not play for Manchester City in their Premier League 2026-27 clash against Coventry City. Reportedly, Nico O’Reilly endured a lower back problem during the warm-up just ahead of the fixture.

New joinee Enzo Fernandez replaced Nico O’Reilly and made his official debut for Man City in the Premier League.

Another new star who made his debut for Manchester City was Iliman Ndiaye, who started in place of Phil Foden.

With their current squad quality, the Cityzens have the power to outplay every club in the English top division. But it will only be possible with their consistency and the right tactics deployed by Enzo Maresca.
