Following the death of Atleti midfielder Koke’s mother, a minute of silence was observed before kickoff in the Spanish capital this evening.
On their club website on Tuesday, the LaLiga team said that they had sent a request to UEFA about a minute of silence and black armbands for this evening’s match.
Atletico said that the flag over the Estadio Metropolitano will be positioned at half-mast as a further sign of respect; however, it is unclear if captain Koke will play tonight.
