Led by Liam Rosenior, Paris FC were set to face William Still’s AJ Auxerre in a pre-season friendly on August 12 ahead of the Ligue 1 2026-27 campaign. However, as things stand, the match has been called off without any specific reason.

In their last friendly, the Parisians faced Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart. The French club was trailing by two goals after 55 minutes, but the 21-year-old Luca Koleosho stepped up his game and scored a brace to help his side secure a draw. Liam Rosenior’s men have played three pre-season matches but have failed to win any of them.

For Auxerre, the pre-season run has not been very pleasing. They have played four friendlies ahead of the new season and have only won one of them. Their 5-2 victory came against the fourth-tier French club, St Maur Lusitanos. Their recent performances suggest that the William Still-led side is struggling with their efforts in the backline and must work on the issue as the new Ligue 1 season is just around the corner.

The two Ligue 1 clubs were set to square off in a friendly on August 12, but recent developments suggest that the fixture has been called off by Auxerre.

They haven’t mentioned a specific reason for the cancellation, but it has to be related to the squad’s workload. Les Ajaïstes are going to compete in a club friendly outing which is set to take place on Sunday, August 16 against Werder Bremen.

Paris FC finished 11th in Ligue 1 last season and will be looking to do better this time around. As for Auxerre, they finished 15th and barely avoided relegation.
