The Dutchman was an unused substitute against Arsenal.

The Netherlands international will not travel with Andoni Iraola’s team when they travel to Istanbul on Tuesday for their UEFA Champions League league phase matchup with Fenerbahce.

During the Reds’ Premier League loss to Arsenal last weekend, fellow midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai came on as a substitute in place of Gravenberch.

However, it was not revealed that the Dutch midfielder was nursing an injury, which saw him remain an unused substitute in a defeat to Arsenal.

Due to a heel injury, Ryan Gravenberch will not be travelling with Liverpool to Fenerbahce, as the club confirmed in their recent statement.

The midfielder will stay at the AXA Training Centre for treatment by the club’s medical experts instead of travelling with the 22-man group to Istanbul.

Ryan Gravenberch’s absence comes at a frustrating time. The Reds are looking to recover from their Premier League defeat against Arsenal.

“Ryan Gravenberch has been ruled out of Liverpool’s Champions League fixture at Fenerbahce,” read a club statement.

“A heel injury means the midfielder will not be part of the Reds’ travelling squad for Wednesday’s meeting with the Turkish side in Istanbul.”

“He will instead remain at the AXA Training Centre to undergo treatment with the club’s medical team.”

This season, the Dutchman has made 12 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, contributing one assist. Under Andoni Iraola, who frequently favours academy graduate Trey Nyoni in the middle of the park, he has only made four Premier League starts.

Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni are still out for Liverpool. Meanwhile, Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong are out with hamstring and knee problems, respectively.

Which injury has Ryan Gravenberch suffered?

He has picked up a heel injury.

How long will he be out?

Liverpool have not confirmed that yet.
