But it only came after Enzo Fernandez fired the ball at the back of the net in the 85th minute. Moments later, Lautaro Martinez came up with a match-winning goal.

Cristian Romero will not miss. The 28-year-old centre backwill feature for the Argentina national football team in the FIFA World Cup 2026 final against Spain on July 19.

Cristian Romero received a yellow card in the 51st minute against England in the semifinal. But only two yellow cards can trigger a one-match suspension. This was the first booking for Romero in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Hence, he will be safe to compete in the World Cup final against La Roja. The contest will take place at MetLife Stadium. Argentina are in their second successive World Cup final, and a win will help them secure the flagship trophy for the fourth time.
