Cristian Romero’s Argentina reach second straight World Cup final!

The Argentina national football team faced off against the England national football team in what was a semifinal contest at the FIFA World Cup 2026. This clash took place at the Atlanta Stadium.

The high-stakes matchup kicked off with both nations battling it out for possession of the ball. The Three Lions challenged the Argentine defence time and time again with their high pressing. The first 45 minutes ended up being goalless.

However, fans did see many fouls from both ends flying in. There were not many bookings, but it surely looked like a physical game. The Englishmen took the lead after a goal by Anthony Gordon in the 55th minute.

Things were looking good for England until Thomas Tuchel switched up the play style. He subbed off Gordon and brought on Ezri Konsa, a defender on the field. Lionel Messi and company came up with multiple attempts to find an equaliser.

But it only came after Enzo Fernandez fired the ball at the back of the net in the 85th minute. Moments later, Lautaro Martinez came up with a match-winning goal.
