The Brazilian has returned from injury.
Santos and Flamengo will square off at Vila Belmiro tonight in a Brasileiro Série A 2026 matchup of two of the most successful Brazilian teams.
Santos have been able to turn their fortunes around in the second half of the season; after fear of relegation, the Brazilian side recovered from their poor performance and embarked on a winning run, climbing to eighth place in the league, allaying any chances of relegation.
Santos enters the round in eighth place with 41 points, still looking to cut the gap on the Libertadores qualifying slots. The team’s record is 11 victories, eight ties, and nine losses, with 43 goals scored and 41 goals conceded – a competitive record with minimal margin for error.
The most obvious recent development is the team’s ability to endure periods of pressure and make the most of the opportunities provided by opponents. Santos have resumed their winning streak, winning five Brasileirao clashes in a row for the first time since 2019.
Despite being without Neymar, they have been able to demonstrate unity in the games and deliver winning performances. However, they have now been handed major news as their star player could feature tonight after recovering from an injury.
