The Blue Tigress will be without their head coach Thomas Dennerby.
India's U-23 Women's Football team will face heavyweights USA and Sweden from June 22-28 in a three-nation tournament. Sweden is hosting this tri-nation tour for Blue Tigresses as part of their Exposure tour. The Indian team will be without their head coach Thomas Dennerby who is on duty with the under-17 team.
It will be a much-needed experience for the exciting Indian side to test themselves against higher-ranked teams. Additionally, the Indian women's team held a training camp at Pune from June 13 before coming to the three-nation U-23 tournament.
About the Competition
The tournament was originally scheduled between four teams, but Australia pulled out at the last minute. This is a great chance for the Indian team to go head-to-head with nations like the United States and Sweden who have done well at the international level.
The Indian team will be coached by Suren Chettri, who has led the Indian Under-20 and Indian Arrows teams previously. The spotlight will be on players like Manisha Kalyan, Apurna Nazary, Soumya Guguloth, and Priyangka Devi after their breakout season in the Indian Women's League.
Furthermore, India announced its squad, which includes big names like Aditi Chauhan, as well as players who have recently excelled in domestic competitions.
